JAKARTA — Ahead of the momentous one-year milestone of the current executive leadership, the latest public opinion data released by Poltracking Indonesia indicates robust approval ratings for the administration of President Prabowo Subianto and Vice President Gibran Rakabuming Raka. As the government approaches its official anniversary on October 20, 2025, the comprehensive nationwide survey underscores strong public confidence in the trajectory of the country’s governance, policy execution, and leadership style.

According to the findings presented by Poltracking Indonesia, an overwhelming majority of Indonesian citizens express contentment with the combined stewardship of the nation’s top two leaders. The survey, which captured public sentiment during the early days of October, provides a detailed look into the socio-political climate of Indonesia as the administration solidifies its foundational policies and navigates complex domestic and international challenges.

Comprehensive Approval Ratings and Breakdown

During an online press briefing held on Sunday, October 19, 2025, Poltracking Indonesia Executive Director Hanta Yuda outlined the core metrics of the study. When evaluating the joint performance of the administration, 78.1 percent of respondents stated they were satisfied with the Prabowo-Gibran executive branch. Conversely, 19.3 percent registered dissatisfaction, while a marginal 2.6 percent chose not to answer or indicated that they did not know.

"This represents the combined satisfaction rating of the Prabowo-Gibran government," Hanta Yuda explained during the virtual conference. "Overall, 78.1 percent state they are satisfied, while 19.3 percent express dissatisfaction."

A granular analysis of the data reveals distinct approval metrics for each leader individually. President Prabowo Subianto commands a personal satisfaction rating of 78.3 percent. Breaking down this figure further, 9.7 percent of respondents declared themselves "very satisfied," while a substantial 68.6 percent reported being "quite satisfied." On the other side of the ledger, 19.2 percent registered negative sentiments, which comprise 17.5 percent who felt "less satisfied" and 1.7 percent who were completely "dissatisfied."

Vice President Gibran Rakabuming Raka also secured a formidable public mandate, with 71.4 percent of respondents expressing satisfaction with his performance. The figures indicate that the younger demographic and the broader electorate maintain a favorable view of the vice president’s contributions to the administration’s policy agenda, particularly in areas concerning youth empowerment, digital transformation, and regional development initiatives.

Methodological Rigor and Survey Parameters

To ensure the statistical validity and reliability of the data, Poltracking Indonesia implemented rigorous polling methodologies. The nationwide survey was conducted between October 3 and October 10, 2025, engaging a total of 1,220 respondents across various provinces and demographic strata.

The study maintained a margin of error of approximately plus or minus 2.9 percentage points, paired with a confidence level of 95 percent. Field operations utilized direct face-to-face interviews executed by thoroughly trained surveyors, a method widely regarded as the gold standard for public opinion polling in regions with diverse geographic and infrastructural conditions like Indonesia. This approach helps mitigate digital divides and ensures that rural populations are adequately represented alongside urban constituents.

Key Drivers of Public Satisfaction

To understand the underlying factors propelling these high approval ratings, the survey prompted satisfied respondents to identify the primary motivations behind their positive assessments of President Prabowo Subianto’s leadership. The resulting hierarchy of public priorities offers profound insights into what matters most to the Indonesian electorate.

Leading the list at 22.9 percent was the perception of strong, decisive, and responsible leadership. A significant portion of the population values President Prabowo’s assertive communication style, military background, and willingness to tackle difficult systemic issues head-on.

The second most prominent factor, cited by 13.4 percent of respondents, was the tangible impact of government social assistance programs. Welfare distributions, targeted subsidies, and safety net interventions continue to serve as critical lifelines for low-income families grappling with economic fluctuations.

Ranking third with 11.4 percent was the populist appeal of the president, characterized by a perceived closeness to ordinary citizens and a steadfast commitment to defending the interests of the common people. This connection bridges the gap between the upper echelons of state power and the grassroots communities.

In fourth place, accounting for 9.2 percent of the responses, was progress in law enforcement and anti-corruption campaigns. The public continues to monitor institutional reforms closely, viewing anti-graft measures as a vital barometer of good governance.

Rounding out the top five reasons at 8.2 percent was the implementation of the Free Nutritious Meal (Makan Bergizi Gratis – MBG) program. As one of the flagship social policy initiatives of the Prabowo-Gibran ticket, the program has steadily gained visibility and appreciation among families, particularly for its long-term vision of addressing childhood malnutrition and supporting human capital development.

Contextualizing the First Year in Office

The release of these survey numbers arrives at a critical juncture for the Indonesian republic. As the administration marks its first full year in office on October 20, 2025, it inherits both the structural achievements of the previous Joko Widodo administration and a unique set of contemporary trials.

President Prabowo Subianto assumed office with an ambitious legislative and executive agenda aimed at accelerating national self-sufficiency, boosting economic growth toward targeted benchmarks, and restructuring public expenditure. Throughout the past twelve months, the administration has focused heavily on consolidating political stability, forging legislative coalitions, and aligning central and regional development goals.

However, governance has not been without its friction points. Observers note that while executive approval remains exceptionally high, administrative execution across different levels of government continues to face hurdles. For instance, recent executive evaluations have highlighted systemic challenges regarding local government implementation, with the administration openly noting that numerous regional administrations (Pemda) have struggled to optimize their budgetary allocations effectively for maximum public benefit.

Implications for Future Policy and Governance

The robust 78.1 percent combined approval rating provides the Prabowo-Gibran administration with significant political capital as it transitions into its second year of governance. High public trust acts as a vital cushion, enabling the executive branch to pursue potentially disruptive structural reforms without facing immediate, paralyzing political pushback.

Political analysts suggest that maintaining this momentum will hinge on the administration’s ability to translate high satisfaction into sustained economic relief and institutional integrity. While the popularity of welfare programs and decisive leadership styles currently drives positive sentiment, long-term public approval will likely depend on the successful, corruption-free scaling of complex initiatives like the Free Nutritious Meal program, alongside effective management of national inflation, job creation, and infrastructure development.

Furthermore, the strong numbers registered for both the president and the vice president indicate that the dual leadership model continues to function cohesively. By dividing focus between high-level strategic geopolitics, defense, and national security—managed primarily by President Prabowo—and targeted domestic administrative affairs, youth engagement, and regional synergy, the executive team has successfully captured a broad spectrum of the Indonesian electorate.

As the administration steps past its inaugural anniversary, policymakers in Jakarta will undoubtedly analyze these metrics to fine-tune their strategic communications, accelerate lagging regional budgets, and ensure that the foundational promises made during the 2024 electoral campaign continue to materialize into measurable improvements in the daily lives of citizens nationwide.

by Iffa Jayyana September 13, 2026

written by Iffa Jayyana

Jakarta – The administration led by President Prabowo Subianto and Vice President Gibran Rakabuming Raka has achieved a remarkably high level of public confidence, according to the latest nationwide survey released by Poltracking Indonesia. The comprehensive evaluation, which coincides with the administration’s one-year milestone, indicates that overall public trust in the executive branch stands at an impressive 81.5 percent.

The findings were unveiled by Poltracking Indonesia Executive Director Hanta Yuda Rasyid during a virtual presentation broadcasted live on the organization’s official YouTube channel, Poltracking TV. The data reflects a comprehensive nationwide sentiment assessment regarding the trajectory of the government’s policies, leadership efficacy, and departmental performance during its foundational first year in office.

The survey provides a granular look into how Indonesian citizens perceive the current executive leadership, highlighting robust approval ratings across multiple governance sectors, specific demographic drivers, and the underlying reasons for the administration’s strong standing among the electorate.

Sectoral Performance: Education, Health, and Defense Lead the Way

A closer examination of the polling data reveals that the high general trust in the Prabowo-Gibran administration is directly underpinned by strong public satisfaction across critical public service sectors. Citizens overwhelmingly expressed contentment with government interventions in education, healthcare, and national security.

Topping the sectoral evaluations is the education sector, which garnered a stellar 79.0 percent public satisfaction rating. This is followed closely by the health sector at 76.6 percent, reflecting positive public sentiment toward healthcare accessibility and service delivery improvements over the past year. Meanwhile, the defense and security sector—a domain historically familiar to President Prabowo given his background as a former Minister of Defense—secured a robust 75.5 percent approval rating.

These figures indicate that structural policies and ongoing budgetary allocations directed toward human capital development and national stability are resonating effectively with the general population. Analysts note that maintaining high satisfaction in these three core areas is typically vital for ensuring long-term sociopolitical stability in Indonesia.

Core Drivers of Public Appreciation for President Prabowo Subianto

Beyond institutional evaluations, President Prabowo Subianto’s personal approval rating as head of state stands at 78.3 percent. The survey meticulously mapped out the primary factors contributing to this substantial backing, categorizing the motivations behind public appreciation into five distinct pillars.

According to the data presented by Hanta Yuda Rasyid, leadership style and character attributes form the single largest block of positive sentiment. Approximately 22.9 percent of respondents specifically cited Prabowo’s perceived decisiveness and courage as the primary reason for their approval.

Social assistance programs (Bantuan Sosial or Bansos) emerged as the second-most prominent driver, cited by 13.4 percent of respondents who acknowledged the tangible benefits of these welfare safety nets in cushioning economic pressures. Close behind, 11.4 percent of citizens praised the President’s perceived proximity to the populace and his consistent advocacy for the interests of ordinary citizens and grassroots communities.

Furthermore, ongoing efforts in legal reform and law enforcement accounted for 9.2 percent of the appreciative responses. Rounding out the top five reasons is the flagship Makan Bergizi Gratis (MBG) program—focused on providing nutritious meals to students—which captured 8.5 percent of positive public recognition.

Vice President Gibran Rakabuming Raka Maintains Strong Approval

In tandem with the President’s strong performance metrics, Vice President Gibran Rakabuming Raka also secured a solid approval rating from the Indonesian public. The Poltracking survey revealed that public satisfaction with Gibran’s performance stands at 71.4 percent.

The high approval rating for the Vice President underscores a relatively smooth executive partnership during their inaugural year. Observers note that Gibran’s appeal often bridges generational divides, appealing heavily to younger demographics while complementing President Prabowo’s broader statecraft and military-diplomatic experience.

Methodology and Survey Parameters

To ensure statistical rigor and reliability, Poltracking Indonesia executed the nationwide survey using a strict empirical framework. The data collection phase took place from October 3 to October 10, 2025, capturing contemporary sociopolitical dynamics.

The survey deployed a multi-stage random sampling method, encompassing a total of 1,220 respondents across various provinces in Indonesia. Data was gathered primarily through direct, face-to-face interviews conducted by trained field researchers. The resulting dataset maintains a margin of error of approximately 2.9 percent at a 95 percent confidence level, making the findings statistically representative of the broader Indonesian electorate.

Broader Implications and Political Landscape

The release of these Poltracking survey results carries significant implications for the political and economic landscape of Indonesia as the administration looks toward its subsequent years in power. An approval and trust rating exceeding 80 percent provides the executive branch with substantial political capital.

With this high degree of public backing, the Prabowo-Gibran administration possesses a strong mandate to accelerate structural economic reforms, infrastructural projects, and large-scale social welfare initiatives—such as the aforementioned Makan Bergizi Gratis program—without facing immediate or debilitating legislative gridlock or widespread public pushback.

Political analysts suggest that while honeymoon periods for newly elected governments often experience gradual erosion over time, the proactive rollout of visible social assistance and targeted investments in health and education have successfully cushioned the administration against early skepticism. However, maintaining these figures will heavily depend on the government’s ability to navigate global macroeconomic headwinds, control inflation, and ensure stringent transparency in public spending moving forward.

As the Prabowo-Gibran administration enters its second year, the focus will likely shift from foundational policy establishment to measurable long-term economic dividends. For now, however, independent polling data confirms that the executive leadership retains a solid foundation of trust and legitimacy among the vast majority of Indonesian citizens.

Among the ministers evaluated in the survey, Minister of Religious Affairs Nasaruddin Umar secured the highest public satisfaction rating. A significant 65.7 percent of respondents expressed satisfaction with his leadership and the overall performance of the Ministry of Religious Affairs.

Breaking down the figures, Hanta Yuda explained that 10.8 percent of respondents stated they were "very satisfied" with Nasaruddin Umar’s performance, while the majority—54.9 percent—reported feeling "quite satisfied." The high approval rating reflects public appreciation for his initiatives in fostering religious harmony, managing religious education, and improving administrative efficiency within the ministry.

Purbaya, tasked with steering the nation’s fiscal policy amidst global economic uncertainties, recorded 11.0 percent "very satisfied" responses alongside 50.2 percent who were "quite satisfied." Analysts attribute Purbaya’s solid standing to prudent budget management and clear communication regarding the state budget (APBN) to the broader public.

Other prominent figures within the Red and White Cabinet also received favorable evaluations. Minister of Youth and Sports (Menpora) Erick Thohir achieved a strong public satisfaction rating of 63.5 percent, bolstered by ongoing sports development programs and successful international event hosting initiatives. Additionally, Cabinet Secretary (Seskab) Teddy Indra Wijaya registered a total satisfaction rating of 58.1 percent, reflecting positive perceptions of administrative coordination and executive support under his purview.

Executive Leadership and Overall Administration Approval

Beyond individual ministerial evaluations, the Poltracking Indonesia survey measured public sentiment regarding the overarching executive leadership of President Prabowo Subianto and Vice President Gibran Rakabuming Raka. The collective approval rating for the Prabowo-Gibran administration stood at a robust 78.1 percent after one year in office.

Conversely, 19.3 percent of respondents expressed dissatisfaction with the administration’s trajectory, while 2.6 percent chose not to answer or indicated they did not know.

Meanwhile, Vice President Gibran Rakabuming Raka recorded a 71.4 percent satisfaction rating, reflecting substantial backing for his focus on youth empowerment, digital transformation, and regional development.

Methodology and Survey Parameters

The comprehensive public opinion poll was conducted by Poltracking Indonesia between October 3 and October 10, 2025. The survey utilized a multi-stage random sampling method involving a total of 1,220 respondents aged 17 years and above, representing eligible voters nationwide.

To ensure statistical reliability, the survey maintained a margin of error of approximately +/- 2.9 percent at a 95 percent confidence level. Data collection was carried out through face-to-face interviews administered by trained field surveyors, allowing for rigorous quality control and direct verification of respondent demographics across various provinces.

Background Context: The Red and White Cabinet’s First Year

The release of these polling figures coincides with a critical juncture for the Red and White Cabinet, which has reached its first operational anniversary. Formed under the vision of advancing national self-sufficiency and economic growth, the administration has introduced sweeping policy reforms across fiscal management, social welfare, and institutional governance.

During its inaugural year, the cabinet faced several multifaceted challenges, ranging from global supply chain fluctuations and inflationary pressures to the domestic implementation of flagship social programs. The public satisfaction metrics provided by polling institutions like Poltracking Indonesia serve as vital barometers for the administration, offering empirical insights into how everyday citizens perceive government policies and institutional efficacy.

Implications and Analytical Outlook

Political analysts suggest that the high approval ratings for key ministers such as Nasaruddin Umar and Purbaya provide political stability and policy continuity for the executive branch. High public trust in the Ministry of Finance, in particular, is critical for maintaining investor confidence and ensuring fiscal discipline as Indonesia navigates complex macroeconomic conditions.

Furthermore, the strong collective approval rating of over 78 percent for the Prabowo-Gibran administration indicates that the public remains patient and supportive of the government’s long-term strategic agenda. While areas of criticism and public dissatisfaction persist—primarily centered on localized economic concerns and administrative bottlenecks—the overall sentiment points to a resilient executive mandate.

As the Red and White Cabinet moves past its first year into subsequent legislative and executive cycles, the administration will likely utilize these insights to recalibrate underperforming sectors while reinforcing successful policy frameworks. Observers note that maintaining open channels of communication and delivering tangible economic benefits will remain paramount for sustaining these favorable public ratings in the future.

Poltracking Survey Reveals Public Satisfaction with Red and White Cabinet Performance Amid High Trust in Prabowo-Gibran Administration

by Dwi Wanna September 12, 2026

written by Dwi Wanna

Jakarta – Results from the latest public opinion poll released by Poltracking Indonesia on Sunday, October 19, 2025, have shed light on the performance ratings of various ministers serving within the Red and White Cabinet. The comprehensive nationwide survey highlights the highest-performing officials based on public approval ratings, particularly focusing on categories measuring "extreme satisfaction," while also charting general contentment across multiple key ministries. Despite persistent rumors surrounding potential cabinet reshuffles, the data suggests that public confidence in the leadership of President Prabowo Subianto and Vice President Gibran Rakabuming Raka remains remarkably resilient.

According to the findings presented by Poltracking Indonesia researcher Masduri Amrawi during a media briefing in Jakarta, the administration continues to command strong backing from the populace. The survey demonstrates that overall trust in the Prabowo-Gibran government stands at an impressive 81.5 percent, a combined figure reflecting citizens who report being either "very confident" or "quite confident" in the current executive branch’s trajectory. This high level of public trust provides a robust political buffer for the administration as it navigates complex economic and social policies during its ongoing governance cycle.

Top-Tier Ministers in "Extreme Satisfaction" Category

The Poltracking Indonesia survey implemented a granular approach to evaluate public sentiment, notably isolating a category for respondents who expressed "very satisfied" or extremely positive views regarding specific ministerial performances. Five prominent figures within the cabinet emerged at the forefront of this category, capturing the highest percentages of unreserved public approval.

Leading the "very satisfied" cohort is Finance Minister Purbaya Yudhi Sadewa, who secured 11.0 percent of the topmost approval rating. Close behind is Minister of Religious Affairs Nasaruddin Umar, garnering 10.8 percent, followed closely by Minister of Youth and Sports Erick Thohir at 10.2 percent. Rounding out the top tier of extreme satisfaction are Cabinet Secretary Teddy Indra Wijaya, who achieved 7.1 percent, and Minister of Agriculture Andi Amran Sulaiman, who recorded 6.0 percent in this specific metric.

These figures illustrate that certain high-profile portfolios—particularly those managing state finances, religious affairs, youth engagement, and food security—resonate strongly with constituents who hold exceptionally positive views of their execution in office.

Broad Public Satisfaction Across Key Portfolios

Beyond the elite tier of extreme satisfaction, the survey cast a wider net to capture broader public approval regarding the performance of other ministers within the Red and White Cabinet. The results indicate that a majority of surveyed citizens harbor favorable views toward a substantial portion of the ministerial lineup.

Topping the broader satisfaction index is Coordinating Minister for Infrastructure and Regional Development (IPK) Agus Harimurti Yudhoyono, who captured a notable 61 percent approval rating. He is closely followed by Minister of Health Budi Gunadi Sadikin, who registered 58.3 percent, and Coordinating Minister for Food Zulkifli Hasan, who achieved 56.2 percent satisfaction.

Further down the list, Minister of Defense Sjafrie Sjamsoeddin recorded a 55.2 percent satisfaction rate, reflecting continued public confidence in national security leadership. Minister of Home Affairs Tito Karnavian followed with 52.3 percent, while newly prominent cultural and digital portfolios also made strong showings: Minister of Culture Fadli Zon garnered 51.5 percent, and Minister of Communication and Digital Affairs Meutya Hafid reached 50.7 percent.

The survey further detailed approval ratings for other vital administrative posts. Minister of State Secretariat Prasetyo Hadi achieved 50.4 percent satisfaction, closely matched by Minister of Environment Hanif Faisol at 50.3 percent and Minister of Marine Affairs and Fisheries Sakti Wahyu Trenggono at 50.2 percent.

Meanwhile, key economic and investment portfolios also maintained solid standing among the public. Coordinating Minister for Economic Affairs Airlangga Hartarto secured 48.6 percent approval, followed by Minister of Investment Rosan Roeslani at 47.7 percent and Minister of Energy and Mineral Resources (ESDM) Bahlil Lahadalia at 45.5 percent.

Methodology and Survey Demographics

To ensure scientific rigor and statistical validity, Poltracking Indonesia conducted the survey utilizing face-to-face interviews administered directly to respondents across the country. The data collection phase took place from October 3 to October 10, 2025.

The research utilized a sample size of 1,220 respondents selected through a multistage random sampling method, ensuring geographic and demographic representation across Indonesia’s diverse provinces. According to Poltracking’s technical documentation, the survey maintains a margin of error (MoE) of approximately 2.9 percent at a 95 percent confidence level. This methodological framework provides a high degree of statistical reliability, allowing political analysts and policymakers to treat the findings as an accurate reflection of contemporary public opinion.

Contextual Background: Navigating Rumors and Political Stability

The release of these polling figures arrives against the backdrop of recurrent media speculation regarding potential cabinet reshuffles. In Indonesian politics, shifting economic pressures, legislative demands, and political realignments frequently spawn rumors concerning impending structural changes within the executive branch.

However, political observers note that high public trust numbers—such as the 81.5 percent aggregate confidence rating recorded for the Prabowo-Gibran administration—serve to neutralize immediate instability. By demonstrating that broad segments of the population remain satisfied with the performance of individual ministers, the executive branch maintains significant political capital. This capital is crucial for implementing long-term structural reforms, addressing inflation and cost-of-living concerns, and sustaining policy continuity.

The strong showings of specific ministers in areas directly touching daily life—such as agriculture, health, finance, and food coordination—underline the administration’s strategic focus on tangible public goods. The prominence of figures like Finance Minister Purbaya Yudhi Sadewa and Coordinating Minister for Food Zulkifli Hasan emphasizes that public satisfaction is heavily anchored to economic stewardship and basic resource security.

Implications for Future Governance

The findings from Poltracking Indonesia offer critical implications for the trajectory of the Red and White Cabinet as it moves deeper into its governing term. First, the data provides the administration with an empirical roadmap identifying which ministries enjoy robust public backing and which sectors may require strategic adjustments or enhanced communication strategies to bolster public perception.

Second, the high aggregate trust in the presidency itself indicates that despite isolated criticisms or administrative challenges, the foundational mandate of the Prabowo-Gibran ticket remains secure. As the government continues to roll out its national development agenda, maintaining this baseline of public approval will be essential for legislative cooperation and the smooth execution of public policy.

Ultimately, the October 2025 survey underscores a resilient political climate in Indonesia. While public expectations remain high and scrutiny over ministerial performance is intense, the executive branch enters the final quarter of the year backed by a solid majority of citizen confidence, providing a stable foundation for ongoing national administration.
